History of Porsche Vehicles
The Porsche name is synonymous with racing and exotic cars alike. The company was not originally founded by the inspiration. Ferdinand Porsche was a car legend who dabbled in designing cars. His design firm worked with such iconic German companies as Mercedes, Volkswagen, Daimler, Auto Union and Daimler-Benz. The 1931 Volkswagen Beetle was a product of this design firm. What many do not realize about Porsche is he created a design in 1900 for the first hybrid engine using gasoline and electric power.
It was Ferdinand’s son who actually created the company. Starting with the 356, Ferry Porsche stepped away from the drafting table, stopped being a test driver and started a new direction for cars. As Ferdinand was at races or locked in a French prison as a prisoner of war, Ferry started the Porsche car company.
Current models of the 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macon and Panamera can be covered with our Porsche car covers. The racing dream Ferry brought to life with Porsche is still alive in every vehicle the company produces.
